MixMeister BPM Analyzer

"Miss the beat, you lose the rhythm,
And nothing falls into place, no
Only missed by a fraction,
Slipped a little off your pace, oh
,"

Right Now -Van Halen

Some nights back I was attempting to play the first solo of Sultans Of Swing by Dire Straits with midi track backing using GuitarPro.
Although i knew I was playing the solo in the orignal tempo of the song ,I was always hurrying to catch up with the midi rhythm.
The BPM(beats per minute) showed 152 of the midi on GuitarPro, now I wondered what exactly is the tempo of the original song ?

Today I found a really useful bit of software called "MixMeister BPM Analyzer"
Import the songs into MixMeister and it will compute BPM automatically and save that information in the ID3 tag :-)
And the best part is that its free !:-)

It calculated sultans of swing as "147.87"
It showed my midi backing track set at "152 ' as "152.14"
So I was right , the backing track was at a faster tempo!
Of course bpm calculation depends on many other factors ,still the offset is understandable

Here is my attempt at the sos first solo with that damn 152 tempo .. need more practise :-)
